A classic platforming game. The spherical worlds are great - lots of neat tricks with gravity.
It's the funnest bits of SMSS, drawn out. There's a lot of variety but it still gets a little repetitive by the time the game is done. However, I played through to 120 stars so there must be something good about it, or something bad about me.
Relaxing, great fun...It just has that magic missing in so many games of today.
Interesting gameplay, but for me, nothing is better than Super Mario Bros.
I've never really played through a Super Mario platformer, but I really enjoy this one. Occasionally, the camera bothers me a bit (I have problems with motion sickness due to bad game cameras), but not as much as I thought it might.
P2 cooperative play can actually do quite a bit. From freezing obstacles or enemies, making it easier for P1 Mario to get around, to collecting star bits so P1 doesn't have to worry about it. I can help my six-year-old get through some levels that frustrate him on his own, and we really feel like we're playing together as a team instead of me (as P2) just being along for the ride.
I've gotten through a good chunk of the game, but currently I've lent it to a friend as I hit a wall in one particular level. Since I refuse to skip over it to try a new one, it seemed like a good time for a break. =)
Calculated, focus-tested fun. Has a pretty good kid's bedtime story in it.
