Quote-leftA really good rpg in an apocalyptic world !! Very challenging sometimes too !! Too bad i stoped it near the final boss !!Quote-right

Quote-leftOk, so the story is bizarre, even for a JRPG, and it's definitely not for kids. But there are some interesting ideas here, and the art direction is top notch. Just don't look for the Pokemon-like demon collecting other Shin Megami Tensei games have, because fundamentally this is a fairly by-the-numbers turn based RPG.Quote-right

Quote-leftMy first actual MegaTen game.Though I wanted Persona 2 when it came out but I didn't work back then so no money and I missed on getting SMT: Nocturne because I was waiting for a price cut that never came.

This game uses a battle system that if you attack your enemy with it's weakness you get an extra turn for your party, likewise if the enemy exploits your weakness they'll get an extra turn.

This game expects you to play with some strategy because even towards the end any random encounter could mean a game over.

The voice acting is great and it has nice cut scenes. The story progresses a little slow and it's more dungeon crawl-ly than part 2. Music is pretty good as well sort of electronic/industrial/EBM type of thing that fits the mood of the game.

It has a Game+ feature, secret bosses and some stats carry over to part 2.Quote-right

Quote-right

Quote-leftI really loved the concept and the game itself was great, but I had some problems with it.
A: The music put me to sleep. Too repetitive.
B: Why do RPGs always insist on adding a really annoying character with a funny accent?Quote-right
