Quote-leftI've played through the first two Acts and enjoyed it, but there's really not enough here for me to love. It's a very polished game, but past the razzle-dazzle it's a pretty straightforward GAME. Not too much to recommend beyond the initial 'holy crap!' graphics and cover mechanic.Quote-right

Quote-leftIf you don't care for story and just like killing things. This is the game for you.

The Locusts (They never explain where they came from. But humanoid type creatures) rise up and attack all major cities some time in the future. Unable to defeat it, Humanity destroys the earth in a last ditch effort to kill them. The Locusts dig tunnels under ground and wage war against the remaining Humands and the Gears army.

Riddled with f bombs the game is fun in a mindless kind of way. Slaughtering enemies with your chainsaw attached to your primary weapon leads to nothing but excitement. Unlike most shooter games, this game relies heavily on your use of terrain and obstacles to survive attacks. It does begin to get a big repetitive, but since the games fairly short, it's not to bad. One of the most enjoyable sequences is the tank when you fight the birdie thingers (Called Krill), where the light stops the tank but kills the bird. Hillarity ensues if you play co-op.

Overall, the game is fairly solid. Buck story telling, and kill shit.Quote-right

Quote-leftThis was one of those rare games that my brother and I can play over and over, though admittedly we wouldn't have had to play it as much as we did if we didn't have some hard drive problems. It's beautiful, gory, and just plain fun; as long as one of the many, many glitches doesn't rear its ugly head...Quote-right
