S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

Freaking AMAZING atmosphere in this game, wonderfully post-apoc. I really like the world of this game, and though the story was hard to wrap my head around, there's just something hard core and downright messy about this game. It's unpolished in interesting ways, but has amazingly visceral shooting and a wonderful scavenging game at its core. You can buy stuff, but the only way to get most of the stuff you trade for is buy scavenging off the bodies of the enemies you kill. It really adds to the wasteland feel of the game.

The underground sections are incredibly scary, too. Turn off the lights and put on the headphones and prepare to FREAK OUT. There's some stuff in the first lab that literally had me yelling in fear.

Overall a great game. I still haven't finished the damn thing because the end is just punishingly hard, a save/reload marathon, but getting there was incredibly fun.

Excellent fps/rpg, great balance between a realistic approach and maintaining the fun.

Real fun game that was my version of fall out 3 until they announced an ACTUALLY fall out 3. Guns degrade with time, they can jam, you have to eat, and big open areas. Although at some parts they forced the FPS side of it. The environment are top notch even the singing and guitar playing stalkers are welcome!

Its a good game, graphics are fine tbh, but it gets slightly repetetive and sometimes you die for no reason. Oh and someitmes the AI is a bit random and teamates kill you XD

Didnt mind this game. Big scale but controlled direction.

Looked good for the first hours of play, then the tons of bugs and the lame AI showed up.
That was pretty disappointing for a game that took so much to come out.

Not really what I wanted it to be.
