Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

Ghost Recon 3: Advanced Warfighter shows you the future of military science, today. In 2013, the U.S. Army will implement the Integrated Warfighter System -- combining advanced weapon systems, satellite communication devices and enhanced survivability into one fully integrated combat system. The first to test this new system on the battlefield are the Ghosts, as they face an insurgence in the heart of Mexico City.

Quote-leftA great game to play, graphics, weapons selection everything about it was great except for the fact that the missions were a little short but other then that a lot of fun.Quote-right

Quote-leftExcellent first game on release of the 360. GRAW2 is better and almost 2 years later. Still this game is worth getting.Quote-right

Quote-leftThe gameplay was adequate, but where this game lacked, for me, was the way the story was developed and the details. The voices of the characters were too similar. In addition, I could never tell when my own character was responding, so much so that I still didn't recognize his voice by the end of the game. Neither were the story developments revealed in a compelling way. The game really starts to drag about 75% of the way in. In fact, I barely wanted to finish it, but since I had come so far, I finally pushed myself to complete the final two missions. It's odd that even though you're fighting throughout several major Mexican urban areas, you never see nor hear a single Mexican civilian. It doesn't feel right at all. I finished the game on the easy difficult, which was perhaps a little too easy, barring one or two situations. However, the hard difficulty was significantly more challenging. There should had been a setting somewhere in between. In either case, enemy soldiers are NEVER taken by surprise. As soon as you so much peek around a corner, all available enemies immediately begin firing on your position. Again, another unrealistic aspect that could have been improved. Plus, the 3 soldiers under your direct command are impossible to control properly. You have the option to turn them aggressive or to lay back, but as soon as the gunfire begins, there's no stopping them from popping out and blasting away, often irresponsibly. As a result, they're always getting killed. Fortunately, you can revive them as long as they haven't been killed for too long. They do, however, provide a useful diversion for enemy gunfire. Ubisoft has done a much better job with, say, the Rainbow six games on Xbox 360. That being said, this was one of the launch games for the console, so it probably was pretty good if played in that context.Quote-right

Quote-leftA great over-the-shoulder shooter. The graphics are incredible. It could stand to have more soundtrack cues to make the experience more intense, but the cues that are included are very good. The voice acting is competent, though not particularly demanding on the actors. The difficulty of the game is somewhat uneven, with some missions being freakishly hard and some absurdly easy, in no particular order. I found one or two glitches in the game, but nothing to make me want to throw the disc out the window.Quote-right
