Halo 3 is immensly fun to play with other people either locally or over xbox live. Even though the single player is fairly short. The map editor and many other features make it well worth $60.

Gets 4 stars for as-yet-to-be-matched organization of multiplayer and mass appeal. Loses one because of length of single-player campaign and that no one cares anymore.
Ah yes, an essential title it is indeed. There are several aspects that make this game either full of win or full of fail. First I will start with the latter. Halo 3 continues from the story of Halo 2, the story which may I add, went a little off track and seemed to fail to deliver gamers what they had been looking forward to. The first Halo set a solid, firm concept of a universe, story, creatures and all the mystery behind them all to create a successful franchise. Halo 2 did not deliver the story land marks it had promised and neither did Halo 3. For instance, some people still have not seen rest of the ending because they are too impatient to wait through the credits. Some plot elements seem to go a bit crazy and deviate away from what we really want to know and thus shadows the featured story points and leaves them as merely suggestive hints.
Now onto the better sides of Halo 3. Well what can I say, the graphics are brilliant, maybe not as next gen as some future titles but there are truly breathtaking moments for sure. This game should be played for multi player and there is no doubt it is a very, very strong feature of this game. The multi player picking up from Halo 2, which developed on the massive LAN orgies Halo created. Once you lock in and gear up you'll soon find yourself blown to pieces by some leet Halo master. No worries a few weeks of steady practice and you soon find yourself knitted into a competitive realm, establishing your presence as you rise the ranks and even possibly join a clan.
This is truely a game of legend for it's impact on the gaming community, the benchmark it has set for other games and the sheer fun and involvement Halo, it's meta verse and it's multilayer absorbs you into!
This game is probably the best game I have ever played and the best of online experiences you will ever have, although the campaign version of it is'nt going to be as good as halo 2's classic story which I could play over and over again. But in the meantime, have an awesome time playing online, until some pricks come to ruin your time.
Awesome game. I played from the first one and loved the story so it would tell i would love this one. Good online. Has a problem with all of those little 8 year old brats getting the game and annoying everyone with their "Can i haz recon" and "Man Ill blow you away wit my mad skillz" They act like there gangsta witht their tiny voices and Wannabe gangsta accent. But dont let 8 year olds stop you from buying it. Its still an all around good game. They need to make it where you have to be 13 years or older with an adult till your 18 to buy it not "oh your 3? Oh your big brother is here there you go!"
HALO 3. I absolutely love this game. The game play is fantastic and completely natural in its button arrangement. The graphics are outstanding and the online features (which I've only been able to do a little) are incredibly fun and easy to manage. The theatre feature alone makes this game far superior to any other out there.
Long Live Master Chief.
I love it so much, it took so much to get me to ditch this game. I love it b/c if you get tired of shooting, go build shit!!! Thas what I do!! Plus halo just plain owns!!!!
