I know most people love this game, but I don't understand why. The combat system is basically the same old turn based stuff, the storyline is tangled and confusing, and the sheer number of characters is daunting. The visuals were awesome, and the music was very, very good, but it just didn't do it for me.
I think the only thing that kept me playing this game was that I wanted so badly for it to be a great game. It's prequel, "Chrono Trigger," was one of the best action-RPGs ever made, and this one failed to live up to its legacy.
Excellent game, detailing multiple dimensions, rather than times. Very similar to Chrono Trigger with a mute protagonist and princess love-interest. The stamina-battle system was interesting and unique, similar to Xenogears. Overall, very polished, similar to Chrono Trigger -- just in the tropics (yes, it does take place in a tropical area of Chrono Trigger's world).
Superb game I absolutely loved this, the storyline, the characters, and the gameplay. It was a bit too easy though at times.
One of the best games ever. It would be much better if the player has played Chrono Trigger which this game is a build up from the predecessor. Very good plot with unique battle system which is very user-friendly. A truly enjoyable game without you feeling annoyed and frustrated. There are more than sufficient areas for the player to explore as well as secrets to uncover. The background music for the game is also perfect.
Chrono Trigger could not have been succeeded by a better title. A truly beautiful and unique game, with one of the best soundtracks and most gorgeous locations. This game is deserving of far more praise than it was ever given, due to old sentiments of stubborn gamers.
One of PSOne's best RPG's, Chrono Cross's amazing soundtrack and tremendously enjoyable battle and innate color systems almost make up for the bafflingly stupid narrative choices towards the game's end. Its few flaws should hardly be a deterrent, though; this is an RPG that's worth seeing through to the end, as it even attempts to tie up a loose end or two from Chrono Trigger.
Sequel to the greatest game ever. You have to really stretch the aspect of relationship to it's predecessor but still a very fun game.
Disturbingly under-rated. This is probably my favorite RPG of all time, up there with Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII and the original Chrono Trigger. Upon first glance, this game has little to do with its predecessor. About halfway through the game however, the plot unravels in unexpected ways. The game's true nature is revealed and you realize that this is a true blue sequel, and even more enchanting than the original.
Play it for the story, the battle system, the *still* gorgeous graphics and what I consider to be the greatest video game soundtrack ever made.
